BUCK KAHLERWriter/Director

Buck Kahler has over 30 years of filmmaking experience and is the co-owner of Nolpix Media, LLC (a.k.a. Nolichucky Pictures). Buck began his career as a combat photojournalist for the U.S. Air Force and is a retired Master Sergeant. He traveled worldwide to cover newsworthy events for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, including the Panama Invasion, the Gulf War, and operations in Somalia and the Balkans. In 1996, Buck returned to Tennessee and began working at Jupiter Entertainment, editing documentary series and specials for A&E and the History Channel. Some of his other credits include cinematography for The National Geographic Channel. As an independent producer, writer, cinematographer, and editor, he created the three-part series, THE VIETNAM WAR: EAST TENNESSEE, as part of Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s THE VIETNAM WAR. His documentary, THE MYSTERIOUS LOST STATE OF FRANKLIN, aired nationwide on PBS. Buck holds an M.F.A. in Motion Picture and Television Producing from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, a dual-bachelor's degree in History and Communications from Thomas Edison State University, and an A.S. in Audiovisual Production Services from the Community College of the Air Force.

DEBRA DYLANWriter/Producer

Debra Dylan is the editor of Knoxzine, which earned 4 Golden Press Card Awards in 2015  and 4 more in 2016 from the Society of Professional Journalists of East Tennessee. She produced the 3-part series, The Vietnam War: East Tennessee for East Tennessee PBS. She served as Associate Producer for The Mysterious Lost State of Franklin’s national PBS debut. She produced Fort Loudoun: Forsaken By God and Man for East Tennessee PBS. She was also Associate Producer for Eva Mag Live in 2008. Her skills in fundraising have resulted in over $26,000 in grant and underwriting awards from foundations and individual donors. Through Debra’s efforts, Nolpix Media has received numerous awards from historical associations, film festivals, and a day of recognition from the Mayor of Knoxville. As a journalist, her articles have appeared in PBS.com, Women’s Prospects, GeekxGirls, the Courier, Twisted Hillbilly, Blank, Eva Mag, The Knoxville Voice, and Knoxville 520. Her poetry has been published in Outscapes: Writing on Fences and Frontiers and A Tapestry of Voices. Debra holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Tennessee and an Associates degree in Paralegal Studies from Pellissippi State Community College.
